  • First academic degree in business management or economics or a relevant university course.
  • A course is deemed relevant if it includes at least 50 credits in business management and 15 credits in economics, plus at least 16 credits in courses relating to quantitative methods.

Objectives

The course is an extension course which can follow the awarding of a first academic degree. It provides professional postgraduate level training in business management. Mandatory courses in quantitative methods and the principles of general business management form the basis of the subsequent in-depth study of numerous focus areas of business management, e.g. accounting, finance, marketing and e-business, management and entrepreneurship, logistics and operations management, institutional economics of international management.

Teaching is in both German and English. A particular aim of the course is to combine specialist skills and the international dimension.


Career Perspectives

Subsequent careers for graduates in business management include management positions in private and public companies, especially management consultancies, banks and financial institutions and industrial and service companies. Graduates receive excellent preparation for a doctorate in economics.


Competencies and Interests Required

Candidates for this course should demonstrate curiosity about business management issues and have a good to excellent understanding of mathematics and English.
