        Objectives

The master’s programme in European Studies – European Policy Analysis prepares students to analyse, evaluate and influence the policymaking process of the European Union. It does so by combining insights from political science, sociology, cultural studies and economics.

By linking an interdisciplinary academic education with practice-centred teaching formats students will learn to think critically about today’s challenges and develop practical solutions based in sound knowledge. In addition to the core academic component of this course of study students will gain skills in communication, teamwork and knowledge transfer so as to be ideally prepared for the job market.

When applying for this degree prospective students can choose between one of two specializations on offer:

        • European Economic Policy Analysis (Language: English)
        • European Social and Cultural Policy Analysis (Language: German & English)

        Career Perspectives

A Master’s degree in European Studies – European Policy Analysis allows graduates to continue their career in academia (PhD), as well as entering into the labour market with their specific and tailored skillset.

The focus lies on public and private sector institutions and organizations involved in policymaking. Through our rigorous interdisciplinary approach and the focus on the policy practice of entities such as the EU’s institutions, graduates are ideally qualified for jobs within the public EU, governmental- or sub-national fields, as well as in corporations and civil society actors which must increasingly consider EU decision-making processes in their activity.
