Free Movers via Placement Services
"Free movers" are those students who organize their study abroad entirely on their own initiative at a non-partner university of their choice without participating in an exchange programme. Students who follow this route must demonstrate a particularly high degree of personal responsibility and preferably begin planning at least a year and a half beforehand, so that no application deadlines for possible scholarship providers are missed.
Unlike with the exchange places offered by the home university, in the case of planned free mover visits, it is all the more important to discuss and clarify the matter of recognition of study attainments abroad with the responsible subject coordinator or examination committee for your faculty in good time. If recognition is possible in principle, then there is nothing more standing in the way of your study abroad.
