Das Institut für Strömungstechnik und Thermodynamik (ISUT) ist an der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg im Bereich Lehre und Forschung für alle Gebiete der Strömungsmechanik, Thermodynamik und Verbrennung zuständig.
Dies umfasst insbesondere experimentelle und numerische Forschungsprojekte, die folgende Probleme untersuchen: reaktive und mehrphasige Strömungen, Sprays und Spraykühlung, laminare und turbulente Flammen, Prozesse in Industrieöfen, Turbo- und Strömungsmaschinen, Strömungsinstabilitäten, Wärmeübertrager, nicht-newtonsche-Strömungen, Akustik, Wärmestrahlung, Mischungsverbesserung, Optimierung von Strömungsbedingungen, hydraulischer Transport, medizinische Strömungen… Hierfür stehen hochqualitative Messmethoden und numerische Simulationsprogramme zur Verfügung.

The Institute of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics (ISUT: Institut für Strömungstechnik und Thermodynamik) is responsible at the University of Magdeburg "Otto von Guericke" for all research and teaching activities in the field of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and combustion. This includes in particular experimental and numerical research projects concerning reacting and multi-phase flows, sprays and spray cooling, laminar and turbulent flames, processes in furnaces, turbomachines and pumps, flow instabilities, heat exchangers, non-newtonian flows, acoustics, radiative heat transfer, mixing improvement, optimization of flow conditions, hydraulic transport, medical flows…For this purpose high-quality measurement techniques and numerical software are available.
