Objectives

The specialist knowledge is taught in the field of sports equipment technology, materials in sport, performance diagnostics, measurement technology in sport and sports informatics. For this purpose, modules from the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technology, computer science and sports science are attended. Graduates should have the competence to:

  • sports equipment and sports equipment,
  • metrological methods in sport,
  • methods of performance diagnostics and,
  • information technologies in sport,

to develop, test and evaluate or to scientifically accompany corresponding developments, tests and evaluations. In doing so, students should be able to combine knowledge from the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science and sports science in an adequate and goal-oriented manner, so that effective problem solving is possible within the framework of gaining scientific knowledge or technological services.

Career Perspectives

  • Development, production, testing and standardisation of sports equipment and sports-specific measurement technology,
  • Sports clinics, gait labs, health and rehabilitation centres,
  • Olympic and national training centres,
  • clubs and associations,
  • Service providers in the field of information and communication technologies in sport,
  • in the field of orthopaedic technology and prosthetics,
  • the field of ergonomics as well as in corresponding scientific fields

Competencies and Interests Required
