Objectives

The degree programme "Sport and Technology" is an interdisciplinary degree programme that focuses on the training of specialists who have both detailed and overview knowledge from the engineering and sports science subject areas and apply these integratively to problems in measurement technology and equipment design in sport. To this end, students acquire fundamental specialist knowledge in the field of sports science, engineering science and mathematics. In addition, they acquire competences in the areas of sports equipment technology and sports informatics and are able to independently familiarise themselves with diverse tasks using scientific methods and to adequately meet frequently changing demands of everyday professional life.

Career Perspectives

Graduates are competent for the testing and construction of conventional sports, gymnastics and training equipment, taking into account the applicable TÜV and DIN or EC regulations, for material and functional testing of sports equipment, for the conception and testing of "alternative" movement, play and fun sports equipment (e.g. youth culture) and for the conception and equipping of sports halls and sports facilities that meet the different movement needs of children and senior citizens. youth culture) as well as for the design and equipment of sports halls and sports facilities that meet the different movement needs of children and senior citizens, motor-impaired and performance-oriented sportspeople, for the development and use of equipment systems for performance diagnostics as well as for the evaluation, further processing and presentation of performance-physiological parameters and movement parameters. This also leads to areas of application in health and rehabilitation centres and sports clinics or in Olympic and national bases as well as clubs and associations.
