Objectives:

We are interested in cellular and systemic correlates of memory consolidation. By using hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) and –depression (LTD) as cellular, and spatial learning as systemic models  for memory formation, we aim at identifying involved hormones, neurotransmitters and molecular markers.

Projects:

Effects of low and high stress conditions during learning on memory formation and neuronal and synaptic plasticity with special emphasis on roles of adrenal and  gonadal steroid hormones and monoaminergic neurotransmitters

 

Early postnatal stress and epigenetic effects on memory formation and neuronal plasticity during adulthood
